Course overview

This is a two-part course that reviews immediate loading as a predictable modality of treatment for edentulous patients and those who will become edentulous.

Part I: Didactic seminar (July 21)
An overview of the immediate loading concept will be presented. This seminar will review the entire treatment process from patient selection and case planning to surgical and restorative protocols. Clinical cases and tips for a predictable outcome will be discussed.

Part II: Live immediate loading of one arch (July 22)
This is a unique opportunity to observe the execution of implant placement and immediate loading of one full arch. Step-by-step explanation will be provided in the actual clinical setting. Tips for better outcome and efficient time use will be given.

Learning objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
– Identify candidate patients that can benefit from a full-arch immediate loading technique and become familiar with the basis for surgical and prosthetic planning.
– Understand surgical and prosthetic protocols required in achieving successful full-arch restorations on four or five implants immediately loaded.
– Identify prosthetic needs for surgery and surgical needs for restorative phases.
– Follow a step-by-step sequence and apply clinical tips during surgical and restorative phases.
– Observe a full-day session of immediate loading of one arch from implant placement to prosthesis insertion.

This course is intended for general dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and prosthodontists.
